WORD: kar ma
PHONICS: `kär-mə
DATE: circa unknown from JiruChan.

(n.) the method of balance believed by an individual that when "something good happens, something terrible in any form will definitely occur" and visa versa.

EX: "today I found that someone had left $8 change in the self check out stand at the nearby Kroger's. Having almost selected the cash back option, I took the money someone unknowingly left behind... later tonight I got a call from my boyfriend say he will not meet my family for dinner tonight because he got sick... "

EX: "today I got my grades back from the midterm; 265/100!! That's 100 for the midterm, 100 automatically for the final, and 65 bonus points toward my final average. The next week I'm fighting the TA in another class because the professor pointed out he misgraded my report, my highest assignment is now under scrutiny by the administration."
